Biography

Toronto based saxophonist, percussionist and composer Chris Nicholl has been performing professionally around the GTA for close to 20 years with various R&B, Reggae, Blues and Jazz groups.

He has studied with some of Canada’s top players including Alex Dean, Roy Styffe and Don Englert. His influences include Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, Dexter Gordon and the great Canadian saxophonist P.J. Perry.

 

 


Chris is very active playing weddings, corporate events, private parties, festivals, restaurant and club dates. He has been featured on television and radio programs.

Chris has performed at the Toronto Jazz Festival and is a regular at the Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival.

Chris is also a founding member of the house band at the Hot House Café, voted Toronto’s most popular jazz brunch by both Now Magazine and Eye Weekly. He has been performing there every Sunday to a sold out crowd for over 11 years.
